'74 CB550 cafe bars vs. brake cylinder
« on: May 31, 2011, 07:04:26 PM »
I'd like to put drag bars on my CB550 as the first step in going cafe with her, but the stock front brake master cylinder fouls the bar clamp if the bars aren't 2" above the clamp.  Is there a standard master cylinder swap for this?

I sourced a "modern" Nissin setup that was considerably shorter- I went with an integral resevoir to keep it kind of old school, but you can run a system with a remote resevoir too-
Realistically any newer setup that was spec'd for either single or dual disc is going to work-the original setup was single piston with a "backer" pad, so I wouldn't sweat the lever.
