doubts selecting cranckshaft bearings
« on: June 02, 2011, 07:57:38 AM »
Hello all.
I have measured the crankshaft outer diameter of my CB550 K3, and it measures 32.99 mm. The manual says that if it is between 32.98-32.99 you have to use the brown shell (given that the bearing seat inside diameter is between 36.008-36.016), and if it measures between 32.99-33.00 you have to use the green shell. If I use the brown one the crankshaft will be tighter, and if I use the green one it will be looser. Which would be better? If it is too tight would the crankshaft have oil enough? Would it be too loose with the green one?
Thank you.

id use the tighter clearance, use 10/40 oil at first, plastiguage it all on assembly.
