Newbie from NORCAL (PICS Inside)
« on: June 03, 2011, 11:45:36 AM »
Hey everyone, I'm a little late on the introduction, I just found myself knee deep on all the great reads on the forums as I begin to do my first rebuild this 1977 Honda CB750k; I just simply overlooked this part of the forum.

I have under my belt, a build on a 2001 Yamaha R6 race-bike and a 1967 Chevy Camaro 350 SS.  I would like to broaden my horizons with a cafe build.

Picked this bike up a month ago for nearly next to nothing.  I have already taken the bike down to the bare frame; mocked up a 2001 Yamaha r6 front end to the bike; awaiting bearings from All Balls Racing; and awaiting for the swing arm from a 1991 Honda F2 so I can hopefully squeeze the 2001 Yamaha r6 rear wheel in the back.  Next on the list, rebuild the engine and weld on some tabs so I can also use the 2001 Yamaha rearsets on the bike as well.  I'll be posting different parts of this build in the "Project Shop" section of this forum once I have my pics uploaded.

As for now, here is what I started out with and a little bit of what I've done so far... ;D

Nice, another R6 front-end. I'm also in the SF Bay area and did an R6 front-end too.

Thanks Dave.  Just read through your blog on your build and it is AWESOME!!! I'm taking the short route on the R6 converted front end since this is my first build.  My next one I would like to work on would be a 400 or 550 for the GF; then I'll take it as extensive as you did on the front end.  Plus, I'm not really feeling the modern wheels, but I have all these extra parts from the R6, I figured I might as well put it to something.
