Topic: throttle twisty grip

when i took off my grips .... well even before that, i noticed that plastic twisty part under my grip was brittle and was broken off.

is there a technical name for this piece that i can search the internet to find another one?

also since it is broken is their a better upgrade?

can i buy any throttle pipe or do i have to get the cb550 plastic one?

youll need the 500/550 one with the double cable set up,i think its a common honda thing amoung other models.look here.

i think this lets you control the twist so u dont have to twist as much?

a quick action throttle can be too quick for these engines,you have two cables,one makes sure it closes,if you run only one hope the return spring dosent snap or become unhooked.

ok stock push pull throttle it is

Don't know if the 550 is the same as a 650 in this respect, but you can get a stock fireblade throttle pipe that is just a little bit quicker and goes right on.  The problem is that you end up fighting the burly return spring more, it seems.
