"you gotta ask yourself, do you feel lucky, punk?"
« on: April 23, 2006, 05:12:49 AM »
Or words to that effect.

I heard a great one-liner on the TV tonight.  "Luck is preparation meets opportunity"  How true.

I've got to say I have had good and bad luck over the years.

"If it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't wouldn't have no luck at all"  (Eric Clapton, I think, Born Under Bad Sign was it?)

Any others?  Go ahead, make my day...

1st time I heard "If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all (was followed up by)
gloom, dispair and agony on me" was on a tv show called "Hee Haw"

Also, I saw a sign in a barber shop years ago that said " Cheer up things could be worse.
So, I cheered up and sure enough, they did!"

And one time a buddy told me great words of wisdom. No matter where you go,
                                                                                            There you are!
Well, I've bored you long enough. I've put in my 2 cents and you probably want 5 back.

Luck? Luck has noting to do with it.
You make your own luck.
It all depends upon whom you know.
Laugh at least once a day.
Life  $ucks, then you die.
You are entitled to your own opinions, but not your own facts.
God forces us to live with  non-believers to test our resolve.

On a cross country trip in the middle of nowhere, I stopped for breakfast at a tiny little diner.  It was like an Edward Hopper painting; B&W tiled floors, a couple at one table who had shrunk with age, but their clothes were a obviously bought when they were much younger. In a booth by the door was a middle aged woman with a jet black beehive smoking Pell Mells. I ordered breakfast from the ancient crone with a white ruffled apron and went into the bathroom to wash up and whatnot. When I went into a stall and closed the door, there was this written with a black felt tip; "you do it all to you."

Another stall wall; "My mother made me a fag!"
Below that in another hand: "If I bought her the yarn, would she make one for me too?"

My last fave; Light a man a fire and you keep him warm for a day.  Set him on fire and you keep him warm for life.
Dude- your 8 layers are showing!

Most truthful thing I ever read on a bathroom wall:

"No matter how pretty or how sweet she may be, somebody, somewhere is sick of her #$%*!" ;D

There are two kinds of people.  Those that lump everything into two categories, and those that don't.
