A lot more folks can afford 750s than Vincents.. and there are barn fresh ones showing up weekly..

Iconic and desireable, does not always mean rare.

If they were as tough to find as say a Vincent, you would see far less of them being butchered these days.
The Vincent stock has a look that appeals to a lot more people than the stock 750 look..IMO

Frank , i have absolutely no interest in going off on this tangent., add 17-20 years to the equation so we are on an even playing field

THEY ARE #$%*IN RARE HERE, not as rare as a Vincent, not as old either ..... FFS, you know exactly what i mean, stop being an arse.....

In 17-20 years sandcast 750s will be 60 or 65 K, and Vincent twins will be over 100 K.

I used to do a lot of research into vintage bikes, and had a bit of a grasp of the market and what makes it tick.

I have unearthed a few 5 star bikes, researched them and hunted parts for them.
One I had was made over a 6yr period and there is probably less than 100 on the planet (including project bikes), it went to a very good home, it is now 105 years old.
I have gotten to see some very remarkable bikes in real life.
I dont think I am being an arse on here, just anwering to a subject that you brought up...

Lol you guys are funny, trust me the bike was not in as nice of shape as it looks in the edited pictures I took. That being said it is not a rare bike, it is a cheap bike, and it will never be a big dollar bike. I built it because I love that look and style, life would be pretty boring if all cb's where restored to factory condition, or if everyone looked like mine. I did this build for fun on budget that wouldnt buy me an exhaust system for any of my other bikes and I think that's what made it so much. So take it for what it is and thanks so much for all the feed back :-)

Did I here you say you paid ONLY $600 for this bone stock CB750.!? DAMN, that stock exhaust is / WAS worth a grand easy!
Where are those deals when I'm looking for such a clean unmolested bike? I would have traded you 2 of my cosmedically challenged 750's for that one.

Pat, if you want your bike to handle reasonably well then forget those tyres, they may look good but they are crap on the road and dangerous in the wet, they track badly and do absolutely nothing for handling. I really wish guys would stop hacking up good bikes to make cafe's and brat style bikes, no wonder the prices of these bikes are going through the roof. There are plenty of basket cases that can be butchered. That bike was nice....

I think he said pipes were not that great.. a G note.. I doubt it..
Saw a guy on here, asking 850 for used HM 300s and people were backing away.
I am riding a bike with 341s, I advised my buddy to buy it saying the pipes were worth it.. but on close inspection they were not.. then I winter rode it and really ruined them

Look on the bright side Oasis, when CB750s are the next Vincent Black Shadow, selling for around $150k, you should still be able to get around $75k for your bratstyle.

Thanks again for all the comments guys, good or bad I appreciate them all. I can't believe how people react to the way this bike was done and looks, lots of passionate reactions. I guess its doing what it's suppose to do as a brat bike, stir #$%* up hahaha

i usually check bikexif every day, but was gone on vacation for a week. i came back to find this bike on there a few posts down and i said, "Wait a minute... I've seen that bike before!"

BTW, my Dad runs those Firestones on his XS650 bobber and he rides the CRAP out of it! He scraped the pipes the last time we took a ride on the twisties....

Yeah right..... That would have more to do with the pipes being easy to scrape than the ability of those tires, after all, it is a bobber.!! I still get a laugh out of the people that think everyone has to like everything, you post something on a public forum and it is at the mercy of anyone who chooses to comment, that's what a forum is. Coyote, no one said the bike was crap, so your abusive suggestion holds no weight at all, its the crappy tires that are getting all the comments, they may look the part, and thats just fine but anyone that tries to tell you that they handle well has no idea at all.....

Sorry your post digressed. I think this bike is awesome! trying to head this way myself on my "free" CB500 4. I also was wondering what way you finished your wheels. Did you blast them spokes and all then paint? or take them apart? If all together worked I think I'll do it that way. Like I said before Awesome bike.
