Figured I should start a thread / list of who is planning on going to Mosport for the 4 Ride-in to the VRRA Vintage Motorcycle Festival. I need to get a handle on the number, so appropriate space is set aside.

To make it easier for people to join up, and ride in to the assembly point (Clarington Honda, Sat 13th @ 10AM), please list your location.

We're bearing down on the Mosport Vintage Festival. This race brings lots of great riders out of the woodwork. There were quite a few folks that rode the parade laps @ North Bay. If you want an up close look at the Mosport track this will be a good chance. Hope to see ya'll there.

Now I have to eat my words. I'm new to the VRRA and it now appears there are no parade laps at Mosport, and this is nothing new. I just read it's too difficult monitoring rider pace around the place. Sorry if I led anyone astray.

Still should be a good turn out and good racing.

They should be modifying the Mosport poster then, because it says "Parade laps!"!!!

I asked on the VRRA forum...we'll see what they have to say and will let you guys know. Hope it won't keep anyone from coming though....still lots to see and do there all weekend.

Im sorry to say my Honda wont be on the road for the get together at Mosport however I do still plan to be there. Paint and an exhaust system being the two major draw backs. I will be envious when I see all your cycles there and I will be catching up with you guys to say hello.

Hey Boner, I would have thought a Rocker would just grab a rattle-can of flat black and a couple of cans off your Brit bikes, and call it finished. The missus musta been keepin ya busy.

I rec'd the following in reply to my inquiry regarding the 'track tour'.

"Hi Brian,

I did notice that too. I think Peter Sheppard was speaking historically. But I will confirm, until you hear different assume that they are on, if time allows as we have discussed before.

Pricing discussed was $20.

How many do you have coming out? Around the same 20 or so? I can see if we can offer you a discount if you buy the tickets in advance.

Also Steve was asking how many bikes. At this point we're not doing much better than the Ducati guys - about 7/8 confirmed. It's time to get some firm numbers, and see if we are even going to be close to 20 bikes. So spread the word some more.

Hi Tim - having raced at Mosport, a cruise around the track for me would be anticlimatic; so I can lean a hand if required. I'm sure the rest of the SOHC4 guys will want to make the tour though.

Thanks Brian. I'm leaving tomorrow sometime to do the Thursday track day to test the bikes before the racing. We'll get you in touch with Peter S. or someone who can find something for you to do.

Hope to be in corner 1 with Brent, so look us up.

Just talked to PeterS. Registration for parade laps will be at in the North Bay pits. Look for the "Runway Romp" banner in corner 1. He said they should be covered as far as volunteers for the parade laps, but you can ask just in case.

Given that there are only about 6 bikes committed at this point (and spread out), do we still want to meet at Clarington Honda @ 10AM on Saturday, or.......

I need to let VRRA know by email by tomorrow morning. Please post a reply here.

I plan on heading over to Mosport early Saturday with the trailer (just in case rain cover

, and then riding the 400 down to Clarington H if that is still on.

Brent did freekin awesome for his first weekend racing at Mosport. How many podiums Brent? Your 550 looked great as it was pulling away from me on the back straight!

He got a 2ND in the 1st heat & 3rd in the 2ND heat. I was watching from 8/9/10 when the leaders caught the pack. He cut a great line through the pack & corners, to moved from 4Th to 2ND.

Wasn't so lucky in the 2ND heat. Was challenging for the lead, and got bocked in traffic. Lost to much ground to get back to 2ND. Henderson won, but frankly for a while there Brent was keeping pace. Of course Henderson was riding with a broken foot (shifter side), while setting fastest lap.

Great to see a post of yours again Brendan.

Unfortunately the turnout for Mosport was thin, although there were other SOHC4's there. A nice 750 mild cafe by GPR member Sam, a Sandcast, and Kemp's 550. VRRA dropped the ball, and didn't rope off an area,.....

Honda said they weren't planning on being there as late as April, and then are there! You get the idea. All that aside, the people were great, the racing was fast, the weather held out, and the bikes to see covered the spectrum.

Yea it was a very cool weekend. I think the old single cam Hondas were well represented on and off the track. From a CB175 twin to the three CB750's and everything in between the pits are full of Honda CB race bikes......good thing.

I still think the Vintage Festival could be even better if Mosport would include the event in their scheduling....WTF?? There seemed to be a fair number of spectators, but this is such a special event I expect more people would come if they knew it was happening.

It was good to see everyone.

I'm sure you were busy with race prep, congrats on your showings! I thought it was a great turn out & exciting racing, my first time but I'll be back for sure.
