These POD topics become so tedious. It will always be easier to set up a bike in the stock air box configuration than Pods. It was designed to run with the airbox. Honda took some pains and additional expense designing and buying the boxes. They also took some pains to place the intake in a place where the turbulance is lower.

If they could have slapped some cheap Pods on there they would, I work for a Japanese manufacturer and they don't spend an extra cent on anything unnecessary.

To think that you can slap some aftermarket parts on and make a quantum leap over their engineering is mental masturbation.

Yes, electronic ignition, regulators, LED lights and solid state flashers are improvements. They were items not readily available for MASS production at the time these bikes were made.
