hey xsmooth,,dont hack open perfect coils for the sake of making work for yourself and ruining your coils,,this would only be done as a secondary measure if the wire strand was snapped in the outer casing at the coil entry,,dont do it looking for an improvment!!,,there is nothing to be gained, better wires are available for systems like car types etc,,the hondas have a solid wire which is the ultimate more or less in this area of ignition,,variables are spiral wound wire, which reduce radio emissions but keep the solid wire condutance more or less,,dont mess with good honda coils and wires.

do you have to have red wire?your choice, ill bet itll short to earth long before any decent black cover,d7ea would be the plugs you want,,the 8 might be a tad cold, red wire does not equal good.

how will you fit these without cutting up your stock coils?

the previous owner already cut the stock wires.

B) so the wires on z1 are 7mm solid copper core wires. i was going to cut off the pre exiting caps ( and they said you are supposed to cut the 2 wire in half and fit the other caps supplied to finish the wires) so i wont use the either of the 4 provided caps

A) then ill use the ngk connectors to connect the red wires to the stock black wires where my old owner cut.

C) then at the end of the new red wires i will attach the spark plug caps

Good morning XS I went with the red wires trying to bring out the red part of the K8 tank stripes on the black tank But I don't care for it will go back to black wires. Just a personal choice. buy the way don't cut them in half cut to fit one at a time with a inch or two extra then you will have enough for 3 or 4 sets of wires. Also cut the old wires close to the coils so the splice is covered up when the tank is back on. :) :)

I Have a set of the red NGK wires/Caps, see the picture below.  I was trying to sell a set of Dyna 3-Ohm coils on the For Sale part of this website, the NGK wires were going to come with them.  Nobody wanted to buy them (except some kid who made an insultingly low offer for them) and so I gave the coils away and tossed the wires.  The thing is, I don't recall that I've emptied the trash can out in the shed since I tossed them in.  They might still be in there.  Hmmmmmmm .....

darn thank for the offer but i already ordered everything  :(

also i wouldnt be able (if you didnt give away the coils) to use the coils because i would need the 5ohm versions because i dont have the dyna points replacement part.

from what i understand the 3ohm coils are good for poeple running the points replacement part but if you are running the stock points you will need the 5ohm version.

thanks for the offer though and that sucks you couldnt sell it. i cant imagine why u couldnt sell it!

i hope that wasnt that kid lol because i was looking at some listings with actually a 3ohm coil and wires included  :P
