Race Tech shocks
« on: June 09, 2011, 07:38:03 AM »
Hi guys, I was wondering if anybody has ordered a set of G3-S shocks from racetech? I was looking at the application guide on the Race Tech website and I got a bit confused as they seemed to combine the 750 F and K models under one entry. Would that work? What did you guys order?

I'm sure somebody must be running Race Tech on their CB750K.

I want a quote on a set of G3-S but the rep needs to know the measurements. I don't feel like filling out a geometry worksheet, but I'm not sure if the dimensions were the same for the K and F.

Any help would be appreciated.

Eye to clevis measurement is about 13.5 inches. The k and f can use the same shock.

When you get a quote, can you share it with us? I have asked others that have purchased these shocks, but it seems like there is a bit of buyer's remorse (paying lot's of money!), or something because they do not divulge the info. I am just looking for price comparisons on "high quality" shocks. These are the final pieces I'll be adding on my road racer.

Skunk Stripe - okay, do you know if the forks where the same length on the K & F ?

Silverback - Sure. I can do that.
One of the reasons I think it's hard to get a general price from Race Tech is that the G3-S are built for each individual, and there are a lot of options such as body style(IFP, remote reservoir, piggyback), colors, spring rates, and extras(hydralic preload adjusters, high/low rebound adjustment, ride height adjusted). I'm trying to figure out what I want and what I need.

If we just use the parameters of F and K, the 75/76 are the same I think. The 77/78 had different lowers and so the length may be different but probably not by much.

I think I would just go with some progressive shocks or hagon shocks though.

Sorry guys. I have a 1975 CB750K.

I have thought about other brands but I'm trying to improve the handling as much as possible so I can avoid crazy drivers here in NJ. From what I've read that race tech seems to be one of the better companies.

I believe those are the shocks that tweakin on his bike.

1 inch longer then stock is a nice improvement to a SOHC bike.
if its easier to search the shocks for a DOHC are 1 inch longer then a SOHC

why race tech?
Ohlins can be had for about $550

I looked at Ohlins catalog, and they don't have any shocks listed except for later CB750s. And Ohlins for $500? I was looking at their steering dampener and just that was around $300+.

well thats what i meant, the DOHC 750/900/1100 used a eye to clevis shock that was 1 inch longer then the stock SOHC.
They have a group buy on the cb1100f site.
