While the 1,000 HP is impressive, the fact that it eats almost 1 1/2 gallons per minute makes it totally and completely useless in everyway. This just kills me, this thing eats gas faster than I can dump it out.

This thing makes about as much sense as a bike with a 1/2 gallon tank.

i guess if you've got 1,200,000 dollars to spend on a car... it may as well cost you a fortune to drive too right?

I keep seeing prices from 1.2M to 1.7M. I guess if you can spend a the best part of 1.5M on a car, I guess you wont care that you have to stop for gas about every 15 minutes.

of course you have to keep in mind that that 1.3 gal/min is only when the car is producing its maximum 1001 hp.  so, when you don't have your foot "in it"... it only sips a measly gallon or so per minute...

I had a ride in an offshore racing boat once. It had, I think, four 454CID engines. The fuel tanks held something like 2000 gallons and it could go full throttle about an hour between fillups. Or about 10 minutes between chiropractors.

That thing was also clocked at 253 m.p.h.  I think it's more of a PR tool to show what those crazy German engineers from VW can do.  I bet there's not a lot of profit on these cars even at $2 million a pop.  All the new tooling that was developed, plus the labor of hand assembly...hell this is the bargain of the century!  Where's my check book?

My buddy has a 42 Ft. Fountain powerboat with twin 632 tall deck motors, and that thing will burn thru 700 gallons of 112 octane race fuel in twohours, if we are having "fun"
