I took a long break from my 550 because of my frustration with the cam chain.  In short, it's either too long or too short depending on where I cut the chain.  I need one single rivet.  Anyone?

As far as I know 450 Honda twin, used a staked link, search that.

Not understanding why you would need that unless you run a stroker plate, I suspect you installed a tensioner incorrectly.

I'll add some background on this.  When I was putting my 550K together, I decided to buy a CB 500 (or was it a CB450?) twin can chain, cut it to size and put a master link on it.  Depending on how the chain is cut though, it's either too long or too short.  I double checked the arrangement and I am confident I have the chain run the proper way.  I also slackened the tensioner as much as I could.  The problem lies in how the chain need to be cut to accommodate the master link.  If you look in the photo, the chain needs to be cut at the odd numbered positions for the master link to fit.  As mentioned, it's too long or too short cut to those lengths.  What it needs is to be connected at position 2.  Obviously though, the link won't fit there.  I'll try to get a picture of the chain routing and post it just to be sure...

*edit*  well, never mind.  It's impossible to connect the chain at that length. this is really kicking my @$$.  Let me look at the tensioner again...

Wash chain in gas and dry it.
Removing all the grease may allow it to 'stretch' the amount you need.
Rivet it up with a new master link.
The chains are not all the same pitch, if yours is even 0.1mm 'off', multiplied by 80~90 links it's going to be a significant amount.
I use CB750  'racing' chain (about $40.00 from Z1) cut to size and riveted
