Where did this part come from?

just sorting through a box of parts the PO gave to me along with the 1976 CB550f. I know for sure that this isn't a spare part for this bike. look familiar to anyone?

a yamaha something maybe? the dude left me handful of yamaha parts that I can't do anything with, except throw them on eBay if they have any value.

okay. maybe. any numbers? helpful markings?

flebay is a good place to find something that looks like what you have.

Honda did use a similar looking setup circa early-'80s, IIRC.

I think there are after-market oil coolers  for some cb's.

Yes, it's an aftermarket oil cooler.  The part that's missing is the extra long oil filter bolt.

I have one that looks very simular, it was on a 1981 CB650SC.

thermo chem? and then some patent number... my only reason for starting this thread is to see if this is trash or treasure (eBay?)

flebay is a good way to get rid of trash or treasure. treasure brings a bit more than trash.
