Just bought my first Honda CB550 and could not be happier. I have not rode in a few years and really nneded to get back on the road for my sanity. I found an all original 1978 Honda CB550 K right down to the tires with 8,000 miles. New tires and brakes and in the last 2 days I have logged over 200 miles on it. Even got caught in the rain giving my daughter a ride. Only problem that iI can see is that I have some gas leaking from the tank when I fill it up and start riding. It seems to come up from where the frame tube passes through the tank and connects to the steering head

Welcome.  Good to be back in the fold after an absence, isn't it? I went 22 years without riding . 

You better pay attention to that gas leak as it is right over the exhaust headers from your description.  ...Larry
