I saw a 1976 cb360 on craigslist today. $400...title can be "obtained". So I asked for more pics and inquired about the title (by the way I live in New York State.) Bike looked ok and is in running condition. Here is the response (word for word) regarding the title. "Titles are easy. Just take a pencil rubbing of the VIN to the DMV and tell them you lost your registration. Piece of cake."

Haha the DOL asked for a rubbing of the vin/serial tag of my 50 year old boat in order to get a 3 year registration after which I could apply for a title. My motorcycle on the other hand...umm wasn't
quite
so easy
