The holidays slowed me down a bit. Ive worked on the frame loop and under tail. Also built part of the rear light. Its going to be flush mounted inside the rear loop and contoured to fit. I used a couple of LEDs to get a sense of how bright it will be when done. I know its not entirely street legal as far as lighting goes but it should do the trick either way.

Im also going to reuse the fender mount which isnt in this photo to support the tail and mount the battery.

Yea Im slotting the tail loop and am going to shape that deep piece of polycarbonate to match the outer profile of the loop. The poly is 1/2 thick with 16 gauge sheet which ill slot and weld the 1" frame loop to accept. It should be super clean and hard to detect when the bike is off. Its a trick ive seen hot rodders use on curved sections of body work. Basically it will look like its part of the frame. I had the idea a while ago but got spurred on when I saw Tron recently. Theres a scene where the bike is speeding away and it had the exact look of this(but not sure how it was executed for the movie). I also havent seen it done on any of the very many cafe bikes Ive seen.

It is a very clean look, I've seen it on many rods myself. As for Tron, I'm guessing it was CGI or at least CGI enhanced.

Did a little more work on the rear sets. Got some speed holes(height adjustment holes actually) drilled. Theyll get more smoothing, shaping and polishing before final assembly.

I see you said you picked the rear sets off of eBay. Do you have a brand name for them? They look pretty good.

Edit - Never mind I found they are Tarozzi rear sets. I might have to look into some of these.

the one in the tron movie is eaier to make than what you're doing

yours could look better though, hopefully the brightness is good

Those are road riders. 100/90 front on 19 2.5 rim and a 130/80 on an 18 3.5 It has a dresda swing arm and the rear clearance is pretty minimal on the right side. I prolly have 1 cm between the leading right edge of the tire and the swing arm.

Yea thats it! That one looks better from far than up close. Hopefully mine will look good up close as well. Its got 36 high output LEDs and Ive tested it outside in the daylight and its pretty bright as the run and very bright as the stop.

Thanks for all the comments guys. So if I can remember the last few questions:

Plans for the seat? Might do some more stitching, not sure yet.

Whered I get the light? I made it! Well, I bought the LED strip and made the rest.

Will the build include signals? Probably not. Its going to be barely legal. In florida we dont need signals.

And the comment on wanting to go out and build stuff... thanks! I get spurs of motivation and interest when I see what others done. Sometimes Ill expand on others ideas or take suggestions. Necessity is the mother of invention.

Nice. I always enjoy a good mix of modern in with classic. Are you doing any white LED's on the front? Or just headlight in the bucket?
