The F2 look good with silver engine. Black must be washed off often.

Thanks guys. The only issue I had was finding a good seat as the base of the original seat is badly rusted on one side. However, through this forum I made contact with another Kiwi who needed some parts I had spare and he happened to have the really nice original seat that you see on the bike now. We did a swap and that completed the project.

This is my 1978 CB750F Super Sport. A 9,000 mile, 1 PO, California survivor in original paint. The only non-OEM part on this bike is the bars. If the bike had been delivered in Europe it would be all OEM. Don't like the cruiser bars they came with. My choice and easily changed back. My first Honda in 52 years of riding. Love it and very reliable. Thanks.

Okay I will play and this will be my first post as well.
We found this within 5 miles of the house! Runs like a Swiss watch and less than 5500 original miles on it. Kept inside since new.

My K1 this past winter on the way to work on a chilly morning just above freezing. I restored it in 2013, mostly stock aside from the pipe and porting the head.

These are pics of my 1978 CB750F. It is an original paint, 9,000 mile survivor with 1 California PO. It sat for about 25 years and therefore needed new consumables, some rubbers and a new solinoid. It varies from totally stock in that the seat has been recovered without strap, and the lower-than-stock bars were my choice to replace the bent ones. If the bike was European delivery, the bars would be stock.

Just my opinion but those F's should have come stock with a 900 sohc engine. If I had bought a new bike in 78 it would have been a Kawasaki. That said, by 78 my brother was working at the local Kaw shop. Everyone around here wanted an LTD.

Or a dohc as Kawasaki had delivered for some years then, at that time as the 1015 engine but better! With RC and later V&H parts, >120whp ;) ;)

Everyone around here wanted an LTD.

Maybe I just have a bad taste in my mouth from my "first" bike I guess you could call it, 81 kz440 LTD. I sold my VW Bus needing work, excited to get into bikes. It had like 2000 miles, I figured I landed a score. Then I found out why. I literally never rode the thing more than a mile or two before proceeding to push it home, it had an electronic ignition that would run in the driveway for 30 mins but you hit the road and it would fritz out and zero spark. What a bummer. I was like 21 and didn't know anything - offed it for $300 and set out finding a bike with points lol

Here is my 75 CB550 resto-mod.

It is a great bike to ride and display at gatherings. Been working on Tachometer issues and an oil leak I believe I "cured" by re-tightening the clutch cover screws.

The paint is close to original color, but in urethane base/clear.  Aluminum rims & chrome spokes. Chromed covers, lower handlebars, solid state ignition and charging system. Exhaust is replica from CMSL. I painted the inside of the pipes with Eastman header coating (2X each) before I installed them, should last a long time.
I tell my wife the motorcycles are an investment...

Here is a totally stock CB550K that was a one owner bike with just 6 years of use until the early 80's; then it slept in his garage for 30+ years. I was fortunate to find it about 3 years ago and did a mostly sympathetic restoration back to factory fresh.
The paint, rims and exhaust are all original with no repaint on anything other than a few touch ups to the black frame area around the swing arm. It only has 7500 klms being a Canadian bike, or about 4600 miles on the clock. The eastern red bud tree steals the show too that spring.  :

Great bling. Do you know how close is it to the end of the line? I have one 11/77.
But still prefer the early 500s, maybe because that's what I had at the time.
