As you can see I didn't do a pristine restoration because I like that it shows its age with tank paint, etc. Still needs some things such as new rear fender and taillight holder which are pretty rusty, and the brittle side cover finally broke after this photo was taken, so those need replacing. There's always something.

Stellar colour and love the idea of keeping the patina.

No, this bike is treated as a show bike. It gets ridden once a year to the gas station and back.
When I found the bike, it had the original Bridgestone ss on it. I took them off an threw them away (stupid) and put new tires on it so I could ride safely. Those tires were still on the bike until a few years ago. I was able to source a (new) unused , original equipment rear tire and a fairly good original used front tire. But, they are still 42 years old give or take. The rear tire was very soft and neither tire shows cracks. I don't ride it around.
It's only original once.
I should say, I pretty much stop riding the bike around 1998, 99

Sorry, not parting out but always looking for early parts. Working on a candy blue green K0. Need a K1 motor as the one on the right has a K0 motor so is not truly correct. Only a 750 fanatic could tell the difference though.
River Rat K1, not correct: shocks, tail light/rear fender, handle bars, chain guard, needs a rubber boot on the right carb "top". No disrespect intended. Gorgeous bike!

Magpie, it's cool. I asked, and I didn't intend to do a restoration. All the rubber boots are missing. The bars are correct for an European K2, at least according to DSS. I'm on the fence about buying a new rear fender for my K0 and trading a couple around so this one will look correct.
Magpie, I have a high number K1 engine in a no number frame number K2 and am always looking for a K0 engine 1014000 to 1014whatever. I also have an unstamped replacement case engine but it's K0.

Here is my K2, still running points and stock coils. Tank and side covers since replaced with NOS items.

I posted my 750F at the beginning of the thread, but here's my slightly crusty '75 CB400F

Muffler isn't stock, but everything else other than the stickers on the side covers is. Plan is full-on resto with bar end mirrors and LED gauge lighting ala Tweakin and others. Nice thing this came with black side covers as well so I can be a '76 or a '75. The engine is actually a '76 with the original engine sitting partially assembled in bins. PO tore it down to replace the cam chain tensioner and sold to me as is. It's a runner as it sits now, though carbs are in dire need of a cleaning so plan is to fully clean and detail the carbs and then have a better runner. Tear down, detail and reassemble the '75 motor and then do full resto during a winter season.
