Hey, I've got a green '73 with a 16" rear tire too!   It's going to get restored in the next few months.
Yours looks pretty good.

Yeah I wasn't a fan of it at first but it's grown on me. The tires were brand new when I bought the bike in July.

thanks, its a Rickman Centura, not your typical CR (which I like better)Its HUGE,really helps in bad weather, better gas mileage too even though it adds quite a bit of weight with the mounting cage.

Thanks.  Thats the way the bike was when i bought it.  A PO must have either liked the way it looked or had one caliper go bad and never fix it.  I have thought about rebuilding a caliper from my father-in-laws stash of 750 parts (he has a parted 77F and said i can have whatever i want), but since the rotors on the bike are already drilled i didnt know if i would be able to make one match right, plus i kinda like the way it looks now, it grew on me.  I may still put a new one on some day, the hole is blocked up with a bolt for now.  I might decide to make it stock-er than it curently is some day... who knows, with the one front disc and the disc in the back it has more than enough stopping power the way it sits anyway

My recently finished '74 550. Stock but for the grips and pipes. I've ordered a new set of the original pipes, and once I get my hands on some missing muffler brackets it will be back to ~99% stock. Can't wait to hear the sound of that 4/4 system.

Any new stockers out there people??

Here are shots of my '74 550 with a new OEM 4into4 exhaust installed. Now basically restored to full stock. Exceptions: cushioned Italian grips, removed the front disc hood, installed Hondaman electronic hybrid ignition unit. And that's all I can think of.

The Mac 4-1 system I had on previously is now on it's way across the ocean to Frostboy in the land down under, who has promised to give it a good home on his '76 550F. Nice.

Man that is one sweet example. I'm afraid mine won't quite match up for looks, but at least I'll have a good exhaust. I'll have to freshen up the paint & cases one day.

Coach, Your 550 is standing tall. Those factory pipes really set it off. It's one beautiful bike 8)

Hey Coach,

Pipes look great. How does it sound? I'd be really interested in hearing it. Think you can video it an post the sound?

(I have the same bike and want to go to the original pipes)

Cheers

I do love that sound, and I really missed it. Here's that video link- took it with a regular digital camera, so the sound quality is not great.
