Phaedrus,

What tires do you have on the 500 and how are they?
I must change tires this spring. Profile is close to zero.

My nearly finished cb400 stock project. It's pretty much stock except for the clock faces and rear shocks.

Brigdestone BT45. They are OK. Before these I had Continentals (RB2 front & K112 rear). They gave a more confident ride. Next time I will choose the Conti's again.

When I think of guys like Doc and K5owner and the years that they have kept, and maintained their bikes, it really is quite an accomplishment.  Think of what 40 years bring.   You have had to be able to afford the bike in the first place, then comes 40 years of life changes; changes in taste of rides, wife, kids, economic status.  What if you marry someone who could care less about motorcycles?  Or marry a Harley lover?  Obviously you have to keep it upright all of those years and that in itself is a challenge.

It really is quite a deal if you think about it.  Hats off

She is definitely *More Stock Than Not* wouldn't you say!!

I have a project thread, the link is below in my sig if you want to have a look, cheers

Maybe I should post the second before pic as well, I got a good load of bits and pieces with the bike when I got it including a second frame and engine. Still though it took a lot of time and work.

Thanks for the info. I used to have RB2 and K112 many times. Then several Conti TK22/TK44s but I'm afraid they're no longer available. So I have to choose RB2 and K112 again.

There's a certain lure and mystique about stock bikes. Especially origin owners that have kept them up. My hat goes off to all that have kept their rides and polished them so we can all appreciate em.

I haven't been good about keeping bikes for long and most everything I have is modified to some extent. But the 750 will remain stock, two of the kids already threatened me with bodily harm if I sell it.

Ray,
I enjoyed coming to see you and have you check my CB350 handlebars this past Dec. :) and it was a big honor to me to let you show me around you're place and see all of the excellent machines that you own.I like seeing the K5 in the sun ;) !

Many other different type of automobiles..some w/ very nice engines ;)...Ray, I'm thinking of the very small car w/ the Corvette engine in it :)...and an Original CB175 that is getting ready for a full factory Honda restoration; tell them Ray.

Since I started this thread, it pains me every time it slips too far down the viewed pages.  Unashamedly posting this to bring it back the front page, and whole heartedly agree with weedoo2's comments in this post (or maybe I just like the picture he included :) )

Nothing against any who creates his/her version of a SOHC 4 bike, but it certainly brings a smile to my face as the view count rises on this thread 8)
