36yrs old actually, lucky. I understand. I need to start a project thread. My girlfriend doesn't understand why I need to be working on it. Everything is looking pretty good, so far. Got rid of the 36 yr old tire, plugs, brake fluid. Runs pretty good but I'm going to pull the carbs.

Actually you can do a lot with them oldstyle carbs in situ.
I have a split im my buddyseat like you have. They develop all of a sudden after 30 years. Tried to make a warranty claim the other day. The man said I must be joking. I said: "Where's the joke in this? Do you want to keep a customer or not?"
I have not been able to understand what he said (at this time his dog was barking very loud).

New to the board, CB500 Four. Owned for about 6 months.. looks pretty standard apart from a few parts in the non original colour (ie headlamp surround/brake caliper etc) has the following bits that I know of -

Cibie headlamp, chromed rear swing arm, Kona rear shocks, newer model headlight switch... let me know if you see any more modifications I have missed

Yes, bought this a few months ago and just recently got it on the road. Bone stock K8 with 25K miles.
Fresh gas, new Dunlops and it is ready to go...

Through the years I've never been a big fan of the style changes done on the last 2 years 77-78 of the sohc4 750's. But the more I see pictures of bikes like yours my opinion is more on the positive side now

Thanks D. I pretty much feel the same way, but for $600, how could I say no? Only thing I don't like is how quiet the stock pipes are, but they are in excellant cond and can't even consider changing.

Ok boyz, I finally found a set of OEM pipes that are in very nice shape. I wanted a good set of USED pipes and KC Northstar was selling these babies on eBay. Scored them for just less than 500 bucks! Sold my old Jardine 4 into 2 pipes for 230 bucks.
So my actual net cost on these pipes was 270 bucks.

So, I am pleased on how it the bike came out and it is now 99.9% stock.
I have a unrestored bike here and didn't want a NEW set of pipes to go on the bike as I feel the new pipes would look "too good"

These pipes look like they've been on the bike it's whole life.
This was my "reasoning" behind the used pipes.
Boy does it sound sweet, kinda quiet, but sweet!
(might just try it without the baffles)
