electronic ignition, coils, pods, rejet, rearsets, lower '76 bars, H4 conversion, LEDS, Euro taillight, more tire, SS spokes, paint but mostly stock Honda parts used in rehab. 9000 mile, neglected for 15 years, sitting in a shed, survivor that didn't have too much bad done to it in it's past. Still an old, slow, clunky but fun bike.

All stock and original apart from exhaust (not rich enough for a repro set at the moment), brake lines and MC, and the fork ears are the wrong model/type for the year. I think they are 550 fork ears?

Mostly original cb550f
« Reply #732 on: April 03, 2016, 12:26:21 PM »
Here's a daily rider, Mostly original, paint is flaked and close enough  to the original orange, it was what was laying around my friends paint shop. I bought it off a 14 year old whose grand father gave it to him but his mother said no way after catching him riding it in the street. He really wanted a snowboard and so for $400 I walked away with a steel.
That was 1998. It's change from original to cafe back to almost original. Purchased outside of Albany NY, 3 years in Alfred NY, 5 years in Brooklyn(cafe years) and now 10 years in Columbus were it's slowly being rebuilt and returned to original. A long slow ride. I ride to work at least 2-3 times a week and a few weekend trips in the summer. She has never failed me, gave a few scares and only left me stranded when I failed to fill up the tank. I love this bike, fits my 5-10 frame perfectly and I never grow tired of looking at her in the drive way. I added new coils this year, top end rebuild, engine seals, tires, wheel bearings and steering bearings. Next year I hope to upgrade rear shocks and front suspension and swing arm rebuild by hondaman.

This is my 1972 CB750 K2... It is mostly original. When I bought it last year it already had some older modifications: paint match Wixom Bros fairing, a really strange looking 4 into 1 header exhaust, lowering blocks, and a luggage rack, and non-original seat and grips. Since purchasing it I have removed the luggage rack, put on the other 4 into 1 header with chrome canister tip that also came with the bike, had the tank Kreemed, am currently having Hondaman install bronze swingarm bushings, replaced the old & yellowed 18" windshield with a brand new slightly shorter 15.5" one, bought a new seat that is similar to the one that was on it but is lower profile and "melts" into the bike a little better, rebuilt carbs, installed a pamco electronic ignition, and swapped out the mismatched mirrors for a new better looking "teardrop" style set. Other than that stuff it is still mostly original as you can probably tell by the pics...

Three years of scouring ebay - only needs the stock muffler to be mounted now to finish it off appearance wise. Couldn't really ever be called original as the parts were never originally all together on one frame, but I definitely would describe it as more stock than not!

Don't remember if I posted on this thread or not, so here goes. 1972 CB350F; survivor, no restoration, just "preservation". Preservation meaning nothing's been painted or plated or whatever, just cleaned up to be the best it can be while still being original. Of course, some parts were shot and couldn't help but be replaced: tires, seat cover, exhaust, rear shocks. But everything that wasn't totally ruined was cleaned up as best as possible and left stock.

EDIT: The luggage rack on the back is period-correct and for a CB350F. I've since taken it off. I like the convenience of it but prefer the appearance of the bike better without it. Difficult decision whether to remount it or not...

Bought this over ten years ago for $200. It had more parts missing than not...

Although the silver frame really detracts a lot from it's appearance, I hope the rest of it is starting to look more stock than not now! :)

This is my 1975 cb550k that I've just bought about a month ago. It had been sitting in storage for about 20 years. I plan to keep her stock but she needs some work.

You can get replacement cocktail shaker style mufflers. Cone engineering and Cycle Ex make some. Cone Eng makes them in stainless, too.

Not stock, of course... but if you're looking.

Side covers and exhaust are not original. Looking to remedy that as soon as possible. The handlebars are also not original, but I like them at that height. I have the original bars.

Thank you gents! I do want to replace the whole thing as the manifold has a lot of nasty looking surface rust. Though I could probably just wrap it for now until I find something I'm happy with. I am partial to a four into two or four into four setup. But I won't discount the 4-1 entirely.
