Local MC stores/shops (Detroit) ... They all suck?
« on: June 15, 2011, 08:17:57 AM »
WARNING .... Rant coming up. ....

So over the last several years as I've had to buy parts and accessories... I've been to a handful of the stores/shops in my area. Most of the time the service has been #$%*ty.

As a result I buy most of my stuff online now where the service has been great.

But my quest continues...
I've been looking for a good store in the area for some of the more common parts... and particularly a new helmet and gloves that I'd like to try on before I buy.

Like I said I've been to at least 6 stores (powersports as they call 'em) within about a 50 miles... and the service  always sucks big time.

I've searched on google maps for more stores in my area... the reviews on every single one reflects my experiences thus far regarding customers service .. THEY ALL SUCK!

Who the hell lowered the damn bar?

So.... does a quality MC store/shop exist within a hundred miles of Detroit? Recommendations?

I was trying helmets at Rosenau last week and the counter guy was very helpful: offerred to order and looked through catalogs for me. It was on a weekday, just after work, store not too busy.

All of my gear has come from RecLeisure, which is much downsized now, but the guy there that helped me tremendously was Scott, I last saw him working at Motor City/Andersons in Bloomfield.

Not as helpful at Brights, but I was just in for a browse, and had no questions.

Getting parts locally is a pain and usually takes two trips, while internet sales are smooth: click, click, click and they show up on your porch in a couple days
