I'm thirty years older than my '72 cb500, but the older I get the faster I used to be.

I don't hear anything negative at all in that compliment.  Where I hang out with a bunch of Harley riding vets the people crawl all over those 30K HD's to ask "where did you find that at?"  Seems like everybody's  dad, uncle or brother owned one at some time.  Most are fascinated by the antiquity and uniqueness of my old K5 along with the condition that its still in.  The Hog boys all snort and try to sell it to the passerby's.  If its attention and motorcycle conversation you want these old CB's will get you more than your share!  Be proud!  I am!
Ya can travel near or ya can travel far; but no matter where ya go thar ya are!

I don't know anyone my age who has an interest in older bikes..., im 21, ive got a 75 550.

its funny because i find anything after 1985 no good, once unleaded fuel disappeared so did the styling of cars and bikes.

1960's is my favourite decade for cars and bikes. i was born too late haha

Ain't that the truth?

I've got a year on you in both regards, 22, 74 550. I only know one person my age that's into old bikes. Not exactly sure how old he is, but it's around my age. We're friends but he works at the dealership I work at. He doesn't ride an old bike though, but it is a vintage-style bike; newer Triumph Thruxton.

The response could be, see if you are good person and live a decent life, you too could gain maturity and experience or yes I understand aren't we so limited in this day and age to what we're spoon fed, or yes but they are not for every one they do required understanding. Anyhow I'm 40 years older than my 79 650 or 100 depending on the day.

Here's a depressing fact that will make you other gen-x-ers feel old:

If the movie "Back to the Future" were made today and set in current times, Marty would only travel back in time to 1981.

I thought that was a cool fact... until...
I walked into the living room and told the wife who is almost 9 years younger than me
Her response with a smile:  "That's before I was born!"

I was on campus picking my wife up on my 75 r75/6 and this guy came up asked how old the bike was and said, "Wow! I didn't know BMW made bikes way back then." I'm only 29, but I've only owned one bike that wasn't my age or older. I've been in Melbourne now for almost a month. I miss my bikes so much! :'(

I'm a gen-x-er.  I saw that movie in the theater when it came out.  Not sure how I feel about that....   :)

But actually, wouldn't it be 1982?  He wen't back 30 years (from '85 to '55), and it's 2012 now.

And yet again wife makes me feel old, just informed her that Pam Anderson was the original Tool Time girl, DUH!

She, of course retorts with "the things you learn from old people"

I'm 17 years younger than my bike.

I restored my bike with the hopes that it would be different and women would be attracted to it but all its managed to do is bring in old guys that say "I remember I wanted/had one of those when they first came out"

Motoguy... The chickadees your age are only usually familiar with Harleys and rockets.  Its just the social constructs.  Those old guys are usually waaay more interesting than the women anyway, at least for discussion  ;)
