« on: June 17, 2011, 06:05:30 AM »
hello; I have a 1971 honda cb750K1( with a 1970 motor) i am in need of engine to carb. insulators, I have a set of 1971 carbs. with some decent insulators on them, however  when i did a microfitch the item no.'s don't match between the 69-70 / 71-76 models all the numbers match except the last 3 digits for the 69-70 is(313) and the 71-76 are (024) can someone please explain the difference if any or will they interchange i do believe they are both 28mm carbs. any info.will be greatly appreciated thank you. Ron

I can't speak to the part number difference but I think you"ll find the 70 head to 71 carb/insulator combo will fit no problem . I have that very combo fit to my bike right now . I might suggest you go to West Marine (there maybe other sources ) . They have gear clamps that are narrower than normal that match the width of the OEM intake clamps . The OEM clamps did not seal my intakes even with new insulators .
