Yes it is.  Didn't know if you wanted me to advertise that.  :)

That is the one I bought from you, as far as I know.  :)
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Well, that answers my question! Do you feel like the stroke is adequate in that position? Also, did you change the oil? It looks easy and the gsxr owners seem to consider it a good upgrade.

But it has enough travel that the steering can go from lock to lock without binding?

Maybe I misunderstood something but I think it was referenced that people change the oil inside the damper (fork oil being another matter), Is this really necessary? or and how hard is it to do?

That's what I was asking. Three only reason you'd change it is if you wanted to adjust the resistance or if it had air bubbles.

Some dampers are rebuildable, some aren't. The amount of oil inside one would be tiny, there's only around 2.5 ounces of oil in each rear shock so a steering damper would hold maybe an ounce on a good day, if that.

If you're lucky enough to own a rebuildable steering damper then I'd recommend that you do so, but as I've said previously, if your damper isn't working as it should, bin it, even a cheap non-rebuildable damper is better than a "quality" one that doesn't work. Cheers, Terry. ;D

No,I did a bunch of stuff to the bike, all I was saying was on top of putting the damper on,I also did my fork seals and brakes and head bearings to add that it takes a lot more than the steering damper to handle better. But the damper helps a lot.especially knowing I have a frame kit installed its another assurance for piece of mind

I read on a GSXR site that you take the screw out, activate it to get the old oil out, put in a tub of fork oil (choose your strength), activate it to suck the oil in till full, put the screw back in and clean it up.

My GSXR dampener just arrived in the mail.  Looks like it should fit.  I can feel some air, so first order of business will be to refill it with oil.

Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !

I've had a few quick rides with the GSXR dampener attached.  I'm in the city so there are no fun twisties to run, but the bike felt more sure-footed in turns and over rough patches.  With a total investment of around $30, I'd say this was a success.

Is there a good way to determine what length damper you would need?  I'm planning on putting one on my 550 after having some steering wobble at higher speeds on a freeway S-curve, and they sell all different lengths of dampers as mentioned earlier in the thread.  I'm looking at getting one of the Ohlins universal dampers; most of them are either 270 or 330mm.

Im looking at the exact same question myself. is the 270 long enough>? i guess it depends on where you mount it>?

it's a one-off my pal fabricated. he's a metalworker by trade and did it for fun and a few beers. essentially a section of 1 1/4" steel tube, split in half with tabs attached.
