CB750 HiPo engine rebuild consumables
« on: June 17, 2011, 07:12:31 AM »
Me being lazy, I wonder if anyone has compiled a list of consumable parts required when re-building a CB750 engine?

Gaskets, seals, bearings, etc?

I have MLS base and head gaskets already, but would also appreciate input on the best quality gasket sets available, (assuming they are NLA form Honda)?

Thanks in anticipation guys.

Nick
Gasket kits are no longer available from Honda. I use OEM gaskets/seals 95% of the time. I do have several of the new CycleX cam cover gaskets and they do appear to fit very well. I know Kenny used one on their road racer last weekend and had no leaks at all. He also used the MLS gaskets with similar results.
Honda no longer stocks some of the bearings for the transmission and they are typical parts. I ordered one bearing for the transmission (from Honda) which should have a set ring groove cut in it. I got the same size bearing but no groove. ??? ::)

Kenny at CycleX got the ball rolling on these TG. He only offers them for the 750 now
