Killer deal on killer paint
« on: April 24, 2006, 07:29:00 PM »
I have yet to see the parts in person, but here are the pictures the painter sent tonight. This guy is one of my customers who recently purchased a bike from me. I did the repairs to the bike and ate the labor and he is painting my K5 for FREE  :o. It does pay to be nice EXTRA NICE to your customers.

Keep in mind the left side cover came to me as a wreck. It was missing the lower pin and the logo area was filled with bondo. I had to cut the center section out of another side cover that was also a wreck and mate the two together then do a bit of fill magic. But as you can see in the photos, the magic was all his as when it left you could still see my cut lines abit.

Now all he has to do it work out my mess I made of the tank. He says it will be easy. Lucky me he is a better painter than a photographer.  ;D

He thinks he has Planet Metallic Blue nailed. We just need a good sample to hold in hand.

This color is wild as it changes tones a bit when the lighting changes. I say it is damn close to the original sunburst orangy color.

I will be paying him for his work naturally as I do not believe anyone should do this work for free.

What do you mean by " k5 appliques"?  My k5 gauges look pretty faded so I would love to hear of a way to improve thier appearance.

Thanks.

ElCheapo,

Photos 2 & 3 are not displaying on the forum. However, I did download and open the #2, but only after getting a message in Photoshop that it was an unsupported color depth mode and did I want to convert it? Said yes and it opened.  ??? ???

Works with standard Windows Picture & Fax Viewer too.

Don't know why it doesn't show on the site.
