I will admit I did not do my own paint. Just not qualified and do not have the proper tools or place to do it. I have a guy in town that is excellent with the candy. He did my ruby red KO too. But I did the rest. When I got the bike the PO had already did a frame off paint job on the frame. That is as far as he got. I like to keep the stock parts on the bike that it was born with, so I had the all the original chrome reworked. Did the wheels bearing, steering bearings, gauges, carbs, HM300's, aluminum polishing, forks, etc. myself. Here are some pics as it progressed. Yes, my wife is happy to let me do this work in the heated patio during our WI winters. Good luck to all BOTM owners...keep in mind there are no losers in this bracket!!!

I give kudos to those that have the gonads to restore a bike to stock in that kind of shape.  I don't know if I have it in me, it just looks daunting!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Thanks Guys,
I guess one of the reasons I didn't go the cafe route is that I've just come from a ducati, with a very cramped riding position. This scrambler set-up gives a more upright position and is easier on the shoulders and wrists - I aint gettin any younger!
But I just luuuv the off road look. Next project will probably be NX650 (Honda Dominator) based tracker  8)
