What's up!
« on: April 24, 2006, 08:34:58 PM »
Hi!
I just bought a '76 CB750 SS from my friend across the street!  It wasn't running when I bought it (it had been sitting for 16 years), however all it took was a new set of carbs and some fresh plugs!  It only has 13,XXX miles on it and runs great!! Anyway I thought I would stop in and say "HEY"!

Glad to have you here.

Good to see that it only took minor work to get it going.

Could you clarify "a new set of carbs" ...?

Seems a bit radical.

That's what I thought. Maybe he means new "insides."

hey great, another newbie to keep me company!  I dont know how the japanese did it, but they made honda engines friggin indestructable. bike is sitting 16 years and all it takes is carb work and plugs!!! try that with a harley! hell, try finding a 76 harley with original motor that still runs! here's a little tip my dad taught me for the 750's: if you ever decide to put a hotter cam shaft in, take the cam sproket, and if you have access to a milling machine, widen the scew holes into slots so you can dial in your cam timing. also, dump the stock airbox and slap on some k&n filters or velocity stacks!  ;D ;D :o

That was one of the first things I bought for it!
