Rattle in the head CB550
« on: April 24, 2006, 09:23:19 PM »
My CB550 has recently began to rattle.  The noise is coming from the top of the head.
It doesn't do it all the time, but it always does it at high rpm's.
Any Idea's what it might be or what I could check?

Have you already checked the cam chain tension?

If it's an early CB550 it might have the dreaded rocker shaft cam cover wear.

Are the rockers making contact with the inspection covers?
