LED Turn Signal Indicator Wiring Question
« on: July 12, 2011, 07:13:32 am »
I've searched but cannot find what I need.  Help please!

I'm wiring in an LED turn signal indicator into my CB350/400F hybrid bike.  The original diagram has the turn indicator getting power from the Orange and Light Blue wires.  As the LED is polarity sensitive, how am I to wire into the harness?  (Orange and Lt Blue are both essentially positive).

Hope this has a simple solution.  I would prefer not to add a second turn indicator bulb to the dash.

Do I need to run a line from the Lt Blue and Orange with a diode in place to the positive line of the LED?  If so, what value do I need?

If you add a wiring diagram I can look at it for you and offer a suggestion.

LED Configuration (?)  Will this work?

Right+Signal Lt.Blue------------diode #1----|
                                                                  |  Connect to + LED Lead
Left  +Signal Orange-----------diode #2----|

Green (ground)-----------------------------------  Connect to - LED Lead

what i did was to fit blocking diodes to the blue and orange wires then join them together and attach the single wire to the +ve side of the led the other side of the led goes to earth
the blocking diodes only work in one direction so try it first before you solder the connections
