CB500 4-1 exhaust - weird brand
« on: June 22, 2011, 10:27:27 PM »
I bought this thinking it would be cool and different than the MACs most people are running:

Well I can't seem to get everything to line up right. Obviously the seller doesn't have much to tell me (hopefully it's for the right bike!). Anyway I was wondering if anyone had seen one of these before and could give me some info. Anything. A pic of one installed, a diagram, sound advice, berating, etc.

It looks very similar to this:

But it's a bit different. I e-mailed that guy to see if he could tell me anything.

Hopefully I didn't make a huge mistake by not buying a MAC!

Thanks for the advice!

I had a MAC 4-1 for a very short time and just didn't care for it....made the bike sound like crap IMO....so you're not missing much.

This exhaust you bought looks alot like my Jardine exhaust, although mine is a 4-2, not a 4-1....the muffler certainly looks like mine, though.

Is there any particular part that isn't lining up?  With the head pipes loosely attached to the engine, can you get them to meet up with the collector on the muffler?

The second link is a 550F header with a slip on muffler. Your headers are much different.

Ditto what IndyFour said. Try installing everything loose.
