Is this bike worth taking a chance on? - I got It !!!!
« on: June 22, 2011, 06:07:06 PM »
I called on this bike today. The dude wants $750 says it runs fine but the voltage light comes on. Said it is a ground issue. Any advice? Is it still worth the price?

In my neck of the woods it would be gone already with a title!
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I made an offer. We'll see what he says. He said it only has a little rust on the end of the mufflers. He also put knee dents in the tank for some God awful reason.

He is going to text me the vin number in the morning so I can check out the status of the title before I buy it. Sounds pretty legit. I am psyched.

WOW...
$500?
I paid that for my cb550k0 basket case. It was all original and not molested (read neglected for 37 years), until I bought it.

Thats a great price for what looks like a pretty solid bike!

The more I look at it, all I can see wrong with it are the knee dents. Anyone got a spare tank?

Is it a 1975 or 1976? It could use some foam and a seat cover, spit and polish, maybe clean up some connections and carbs. Its got potential. Hope it works out!

Its a 1976. I don't think that is the original seat, but I those are easier to come by than tanks.

Tanks can be bought brand new from Yamiya. They are around $475 in undercoat and a couple of hundred more painted....Plus shipping.

No offense, but asking that question is totally strange to me- how much have you spent on your bicycle (you don't hardly ride anymore), or those expensive shoes you got last summer?

The days of deals on SOHC Hondas are on their last legs, trust me. Get what you can. Yikes.

if it is the oil pressure light it might just be the oil pressure switch,or its nearly out of oil,or it does have low oil pressure,im betting on the switch being the culprit.
