I am in the midst of figuring out the last of the wiring on the bike I am building.  All the accessories function and everything is mounted where it is going to live.  Which brings me to my current headache.  I have a solid state regulator/Rectifier from Rick's Motorsports and their instructions on installing it are about useless unless you are simply plugging it into the old harness which I am not.  I have custom wired the entire bike to this point and I have no idea how this thing is supposed to integrate into the charging system.  I know I am not the only person to face this so I am looking for a little guidance here or a diagram that I can follow.. Seriously, this is something that I have never done before and I feel a bit out of my element.

This is my regulator/ rectifier

I doesn't get any easier than this.
The big plug connects where the original rectifier did, and it looks like this unit mounts using either the original rectifier mounting or the original regulator mounting - hard to guess... whichever fits.
The three loose wires connect to the three wires that originally attached to the stock regulator, color to color. Tape over the connections if metal shows so it won't go zap someday.

Edit:
I should read the question before answering.

There are 5 wires coming out from the alternator near the counter shaft sprocket: white and green (field coil) and 3 yellow (stator). The 3 yellow wires from the reg/rect connect to the 3 yellow stator wires. The white reg wire connects to the white field wire. Both green reg/rect wires, and the green field wire are connected to frame ground. The black reg wire is connected to the ign switch, and the red rect wire is connected to battery +.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Perfect instruction scottly.  Took me less then 30 minutes to wire, and test everything after printing this out and heading to the garage.  Thanks a ton.

scottly,

As you seem to be in a lot of the electrical related posts on the board I wanted to ask you about a related issue I am having to my regulator wiring...

I have my dynatec coils hooked to my dynatec S system and when I turn the bike to acc from off I get a small spark across all plugs.  Is this a problem and if so any ideas how to resolve it?  Otherwise the plugs seem to be wired up and fire correctly.

It's normal for electronic ignitions to generate a spark when switched on and off; don't worry about it. :)
