Master cylinder question - '77 cb750k
« on: June 25, 2011, 10:11:59 AM »
Is there anyway to visually tell if a master cylinder is a '77 ? Casting number?

The reason why I ask, is that my m/c started to seep a little brake fluid.  Went to get a rebuild kit for it, only to find out that the ones they make go from 69-76.  I know from looking at parts diagrams that the part #'s are different from earlier models, and that the '78 used a brake light switch underneath the m/c and bypassed the union block on the triple tree.

Or would it just be better to use an aftermarket m/c?  Any thoughts would help.  At some point, hope to add a dual disc.

Thanks
