Raask Setup
« on: April 24, 2006, 06:54:20 AM »
I mocked up the Raasks yesterday.  On the 550F the kicker will not work.  I do need to get a longer bolt for the upper mount on the shifter side though.  Not sure if I'm into them.  At least with stock seat I feel like I'm way up high on the bike.  I took them off for now and put the stock pegs back on on rotated my clubmans down just alittle and have about 1/4" of tank clearence each side.

Anyway, what is the proper setup on the brake side.  Do you still use the foot brake spring?  I noticed that when I had everything all hooked up, the brake lever did not spring back like it should.  I had the bracket - spring holder plate - spring - brake lever.  I used the directions that Omar sent.

I'm going to mock them up again in the future but not 100% on them as of yet.  For those with them on the 550's, do you guys like the feel of them.  I thought they made me feel very crunched on the bike.  As with everything new it takes getting use to.

I like them fine on my 550, but I bought the bike with them already on, so I can't say I've ever ridden my bike without them. I've got a 'glass seat though, which lowers me down considerably, and it makes the riding position very "scrunched".

It's cozy for me at 6' tall, and I'm mostly leg.

The brake pedal on my Raasks has a return spring on it.

I would guess it's the Raask spring, as it's actually wound around the pedal. No stock spring attatched to frame.
