ID headers/4 into 2 exhaust
« on: June 25, 2011, 09:27:12 PM »
Can anyone ID this exhaust system? Specifically the headers. Looks like it could be original headers with bolt on 2 into 1 mufflers. Really, that's what I want to hear, because I need to replace the holey right muffler and would like to just pick up a set of the Mac slip on guys sold here:

Also... anybody using these?

Those look very similar to the Jardine 2-1 slip on pipes I have on my CB500 chopper. There aren't any id markings of any kind.

They look just like the set-up on my CB550. Cut off stock head pipes and slip-on 2-1 replacement mufflers. If you unfasten the muffler & it "slips off" the only thing that makes sense to me is "replacement mufflers" on original headpipes. I've seen Jardine make different exhausts with that style of flared end. Are complete 2-1 systems that much more? You'll get NEW CHROME tip to tail & no slip joint.

A complete 4 into 2 system is about another $120. I was thinking that I'd just replace the mufflers for now, if I could. I hear that Mac's header fitment is always the greatest. Plus, I'd like to replace the whole thing with HM341 pipes one day, so I'm trying to spend as little as possible.

Now if I can just find a seller who would ship them to me by something other than UPS... bought a $100 chain from Dennis Kirk and ended up paying UPS a total of $80 for the privilege of having to bus out of town to pick it up, after they failed to deliver it, leave a note, or call me.
