A hole in my bucket dear liza
« on: April 25, 2006, 11:47:47 AM »
OK its not a bucket but my exhaust. LAst year took the bike for MOT test and knew the silencer was starting to blow. Took the bike out on saturday and discovered nice hole underneath the silencer.

I have the Motad system on and I've looked around for a replacement silencer. Not too impressed with the prices and the fact they all want to sell me a complete system. Any ideas where I might get a reasonably priced silencer that I can fit onto the down pipes.

I'm not in a desperate hurry as the exhaust is not yet very loud.  ;D Although there was some small back firing when I started it up at the weekend. It had sat for a month without running.

Glad of any help.  ;)

Geoff, do what any true blooded Scot would do, patch it up, then wrap a bandage round it. ::) ::)

It may look a mess but i'm sure your fellow country men would'nt think bad of you, knowing what you lot up there are like. ;D ;D ;D

If you are realy desperate for money i'll send you some up if I win on the Lotto.   :D :D :D ;)

Thanks Sam for the advice.  ::)

You've got us all wrong. The Scots are not generally short of money and certainly don't need hand outs (though it would be ungracious to refuse any lotto money you don't need  ;) ). Whilst it is accepted that we don't like to spend money unneccessarily (we are thrifty rather than mean  8)) we do like our bikes to look good. Well I do anyway. So I think I'll leave the bandage idea for now. My real thing is I don't want to go to the bother of buying a whole exhaust system.

Cheers  :P

Like your thinking. But I'm teetotal and I don't like sniffing glue - it sticks your nostrils togeather. Maybe I should invite some friends round.

A Scot that is not thrifty, and does not enjoy a few pints a day, need watching.  ;D
