350Four motor rebuild
« on: December 08, 2011, 06:07:41 PM »
I am rebuilding a 350f engine and have to split the cases to change the prim drive gear. I am going to replace the seals but the bearing if they feel ok should I replace them? Also if the crank shells look good should I replace them ?
What compound should I use to rejoin the cases?
Thanks
Chris

I don't know the answers to your questions but there is an error in your thread title that may be keeping people from looking in ;)
If it works good, it looks good...

Yep, I've never seen a 360 four which is why I looked  ;D
Whats wrong with primary drive gear?
I use 'Threebond' 1104 for cases
Depending on mileage, if all shells and bearings look good there isn't any need to replace them
.Just make sure they go in the EXACT SAME POSITION
I would change seals as they will probably be age hardened
I fake being smart pretty good

do change the seals, texta the bearing shells on the backs so they go in the same position,,i number them from left to right like 1U and 1L as in one upper and one lower etc.
