Frame analysis + egli clone build

By randomly browsing the www I happened to run into this website http://www.denoonsp.com.
This guy Rick Denoon ( member here ?), shares some interesting stuff around the CB400, but what made me look twice was his valuable info on his frame analysis..

Stock frames vs braced stock vs Egli vs Bimoto. Seems thorough study, and can be adapted to all kind of cb frames imo.

17" on 70's bike are not my cup of tea but very nice finite element analysis,

not sure though how he ended up with bimota frames being not that good  ???

in any case, you might want to look into mec's thread, amazing project

Hey TG

Dunno about the Bimota either. As always, take all info ( especially from one source ) critically, but some nice data there I thought.
Well aware of Mec's awsome thread(s). Posted some comments there myself  ;)

He rules and then some...for ending the Egli project... then feeling bored and fitting a motoGP style Suter dry clutch to his bike. The shear amount of money he thrown at that, is holding me back from trying a dry clutch ... but maybe someday I build myself an Egli clone ( just got myself a nice lathe milling combo from Emco the other day, and already got a TIG welder )

Anyway....First got to get my focus on the CR rep and get it together. Last year sucked on the working on bikes level ( riding time was already scarce and that got prioritized), but was a high on personal level with my first son being born ( anyone else sees a correlation  8) ).

interesting stuff ,  from a riders point of view though frames should flex [ about 8 inches from the steering head is thought to be the optimum point ]  if you build a very rigid structure you end up with the problems the yamaha gp team had in the early 90s and the problem the ducati motogp team still have today . if you could build good frames from stress analysis results the world would be a much easier place to live in .

Hy CR 750, and all the other one,
the EGLI Clone Frame is already availabel , the Guy lives in Germany near the Town Bremerhafen.
He is not the only one who build EGLI Style Frames on Request here in Germany...

i built half a dozen of these a few years ago , they are a copy of the waddon frame . have just started work on a couple more

neat simon, reminds me a bit of the ghezzi brian guzzi frames

BTW, guess you'll be pleased to know that the morini 500 took the italian 500-4str. championship this year :)

What's the fun of buying it when you could build it ;-)
Would be interesting to know a price + specs or a website/e-mail though...

your absolutely right, that's why I referred to it as interesting, not seeing it as 'the bible' by any means. Nice frame you have build there.

The Frames where build by a Men named Thomas Rupp, Bremerhaven Germany.
He sell the Frame around 1000 - 1500 Euro it is up to the specification from the Customer.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.
