Popping in for a visit. Now with an R1 swingarm
« on: June 19, 2011, 08:38:22 PM »
Hey guys,

I havent posted on here since probably 2008 ish. The bike was pretty typical cafe modded up until last week when I finished my R1 swinger swap. I also did an HID headlight conversion using some spare parts I had laying around. Next on the list is the GSXR forks that keep taunting me whenever I enter my garage....

Let me know what you guys think. Its hard to tell but the last picture has the bike with the new rear tire on it. The tire I got with the R1 parts was beyond bald.  I've put a few miles on her so far. So far so good:]

Havent measured. I'd say 3-4 Inches. Rides nice though. Seems to corner much better but that might be from the ching woo tire I was using before....

Did you use a projector on the HID conversion?

Yes. I've done a few conversions in recent years and I always use a projector. That cutoff is a must.
I used a spare projector I had from my A6.

Here's a shot of how I mounted the plate:

This weekend I tracked down the tire hugger that went with the swingarm. I cut it down about 6 inches. Looks good I think. I also removed the header and wrapped it with header wrap.
