Weird Oil Leak Thingy
« on: June 27, 2011, 11:54:12 AM »
I have a slow oil leak. The left side of the bottom of the bike is coated with oil and a few drops of oil on the driveway each day, seemingly after the bike is cooled off. Oil appears to be coming out of a little round thingy with holes in it and a wire attached at the center. Anyone know what this thingy is? Or why it is leaking oil? Pics attached.

That's the neutral switch and it can leak.
The first thing to do is pull it out and try replacing the o-ring but it may be the switch itself that is leaking in which case you'll probably have to replace it.
Do you have a copy of the Honda Shop Manual or Parts List for your bike? Get one here:

Hmm...probably explains why my neutral light stays on all the time. I'm guessing this procedure is in the repair manual?
