Howdy from Texas! CB750
« on: June 26, 2011, 06:44:13 AM »
Hello everyone!
I have a project bike I have just aquired. I was told it is a 73 but the date of mfg says 6/74...
I have been looking around and there seems to be a wealth of knowledge and experience!
My motor seems to be suffering from a major oil leak.  From looking at other posts I would guess its from bad oil seals.  It seems to be leaking in or from the #3 exhaust port and around the front of the head but not really from the head gasket. But it does not smoke when running.
Anyway.....looking forward to this little project!

A little leakage around the head is not uncommon at all.  Welcome from the DFDub!

BTW you missed out on a pretty good antique bike show at Stroker's yesterday (yeah yeah, I know, makes no sense at all but it was a lot of fun).  Anyways, welcome to the madness, if you've got questions don't hesitate to ask

I'm in Burleson.
Its more than a little leak, its like puddles.  From what has been said here on this forum it sounds like its the cam tower discs.... that motor has to come out either way.  Gaskets are on order.  I'm just going to try to stop/slow down the leaks enough to ride it around the rest of the sumer then maybe do a propper tear down this winter.

Welcome from the Lake Travis area! Love the blue, thinking it may be a K5 and maybe Planet Blue originally?
