Dont really ever post here but thought i would share my '75 CB550K in its many incarnations over the past few years.
The day i bought it off CL for $800 rusty, running OK and registered!
This is after the clean up, rebuilt carbs with uni pods, reupolstered seat, powdercoated wheels, lucas taillight, etc... Rode it around like this for a while, bulletproof.
A buddy who has several harley choppers convinced me to have a custom rigid/bobber frame built by some friends of his
Custom frame from the ground up made to utilize stock components, forks, electronics, etc....
And this is how it ended up many many months later after powdercoating, Polishing and painting the engine, reassembling with cadnium plated nuts and bolts, lots of scraped knuckles and swearing. VIOLA!!!! Ride is perfect, the stance is actually not too low, and is comfortable for long rides and reliable so far. The best part is i am able to re-jet the carbs without even removing them, and everythings easily accessible. i always loved the look of old pre-unit bobbers and the newer japanese bratsyle bobbers, i tried going for something in between. Super stoked on the outcome.
