Might be a dumb question but are clip-on's SUSPOSED to be under the top triple-tree ?
Or is it up to the rider / owner to make that decision ??

It depends.  ;D

The design of the clip-on could be for over the tree, or non-specific. As long as they clamp well, I would say you could put them anywhere you want... within reason of course.

Basically up to rider / owner / designer. On many of the new factory race... err.. I mean sports bikes, you'll find them located under the Tree. Very extreme. That's where mine are. If you have enough of the forks sticking up above your trees to attatch them there, then it will be allot more comfoartable (more of a upright posisiton).

Wow, I thought I liked clubmans, but now I'm getting some clipons.  Look much more comfortable and alot less lean involved.  With rearsets must be great :)

I can say, from sitting on the bike last night in the "riding position" , I am sure I am gonna like the clip-ons I have. With them being above the triple tree, I won't have to bend down as much if they were below.

Will post some pics tonite or tomorrow...

Yeah, the clip-ons, at least in my opinion, are much more comfortable than clubmans. The clubmans that were on my bike were limited in how you could position them because they would interfere with the top tree.

The added benifit is that the clip-ons have a lot less flex, and you feel much more connected to the bike.

Ok,

The clip-on's are on the bike, and actually look kick-ass.
Now I am stuck with crazy long Clutch/Throttle cables  ??? ??? ::) ??? ???
Do I need to do some creative routing (if possibile) , or should I look into shorter
cables (if available) ?

Creative routing for now and then if you need them shorter cables.  Try loosening the throttle cables and point them forward so they can wrap around from the front alittle.  That may work.  Thats what I did for my clubmans.

Got everything together , and was able to take the scoot for it's first voyage up and down the street with the new setup. Besides the front brakes draggin on the rotors, everything went somewhat OK..

The clip-on's make the bike look totally 100% badass. The chrome clip-on's against all the black def. looks good. I can see how a lower seat (than stock) will help out in the back dept, so I 4-see a cafe style seat in my near future, once I get the rest of this crap done on the front-end.

As far as the cables go, I think I found a way (a few zip-ties) to route them sothey don't look too crappy. Not gonna even think about getting shorter cables until I am 200% sure these clip-ons are staying on the bike for sure...

Yeah, cable length is one of my biggest problem right now, too. I solved it (I am asuming simular to the way you did) with creative routing... for now.

When you are ready for the custom cables, check out Motionpro (www.motionpro.com) They make customer cables for reaonable prices. I think is was $30 for throttle cables and I think $40 for clutch. just give 'em a call and they can set you up. I calledf the other day and it's that time of year for them, so they're backed up to about 7-10 business days out right now.

You can cut and resolder cable ends easyly. You wii need to make or buy a cable end cylinder. I made mines from M6 bolts - used part without thread. Make a hole for cable and solder it.
