Motorcycle Salvage yards in New England, Where?
« on: November 19, 2012, 05:33:14 PM »
I have only found two motorcycle salvage yards in New England so far.

Sky Cycles, but I need to find the address again. And another in CT, but it does not look like a salvage yard.

Who knows if they exist on this side of the country.

Depending on what you are looking for and in what quantities, there is a guy in Billerica, MA who parts out quite a bit of our old bikes. Not really a salvage yard but it could be something if you know what you need...

The guy in Billerica can be found on the Worcester Craigslist selling Honda's.  Almost all of his pictures will show the bike in front of a green wall.  All of the bikes are not running and have no paperwork.  Each add reads the same.  He is easy to find.

In Fitchburg Mass there is Sky Cycle.  They are located on Water St in an old mill building.  The people that run it are a bit on the weird side.  If you deal with the short blond guy (that is always dirty) he knows his stuff.  He knows where everything is in that place.  The two other guys deal mostly in internet sales and seem not to know where anything is.  Also they do not have much for CB750's.  Lots of other stuff but real scarce on the CB750.

There is also a shop in Oxford Mass that fixes up old Honda's.  Not sure what they have for parts but if you fix old bikes you have to have parts right?

Lots of misc. parts

Get a price in writing before you make the trip, sometimes they jack the price up when you get there.  But they do have a lot of parts.
" Why does anyone get offended by what someone does to their own bike? I dont get it. "

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

There are no motorcycle salvage yards in Connecticut anymore.   Cycle Salvage has nothing, and is pretty much useless these days.   What that place does now is just sell parts from other salvage yards, under the Cycle Salvage name.  Easier to go the place in New Hampshire.

I just found Holmes Cycle Repair in Milford, ME. Lots of great parts but non of it is organized. It takes a fair bit on digging to find the good stuff:
