1978 Honda 750F or 1978 Honda cb550k
« on: July 05, 2011, 12:22:35 PM »
Guys, I checked out this site-----------http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/honda_cb_750_f_ss_1978.php

The ratings for the 750f are very comparable to the Honda CB550 same year... Besides size differences what are the advantages and disdvantages to this bike? Cafe wise is the Cb550 more suitable?

Or the 1978 Honda CB750F worth trying to convert?

I am unable to pick up the bike in Minnesota until Thursday at latest and now I am curious if there may be a reason why there seems to be obstacles with the purchase... I really like the height, size and weight of the 550.... Is there that much of a drive experience difference?

The price is not as good as the 550, but i figure saving on the trip to purchase the bike and a road ready one it may be advantageous to purchase a road ready CB...

This is the ad for the 750ss

Sweet Honda, runs great, looks great. Gas tank has some flaking clear coat, handlebars and exhaust have a little rust. I think the exhaust is specially tuned because it sounds a little more badass than a regular Honda. I've had this tuned and oil/filter changed at Suters every year for 7-8 years. I've also had some new electrical, new fork seals, carbs cleaned, brake work, valve work, and other stuff i can't remember in these years. I can dig up all the Suters invoices if interested and find out exactly what has been done. I've ridden it like 500 miles since i got it years ago, has now about 15000 miles on it. Only thing that is problematic is the switch for the high/low beam is malfunctioning and i think it's on low...i never noticed it, but a new switch would probably be cheap if you need both high/low headlight. I put a new battery in two years ago, stored it inside, take a charge nice and runs like a charm. It's a honda, with some stabil in the gas and a charged battery, it starts up in the spring. I've always stored it inside in winter and weather. Fast, badass, all metal, perfect street bike. Email me with questions, thanks.
