Tank Badge Crossover
« on: July 06, 2011, 03:38:24 PM »
I lost a tank badge off of my '76 750F yesterday. Pretty disappointing. I doubled back and looked, but it's gone.

I'm looking to replace it and I'm wondering if these things are pretty standard. I see badges off of 550s and 500s and 400s on flea-bay, but I don't want to buy it and have it not fit.

Does anyone know what I can get away with?

Thanks.

God wanted you to lose it  ::) joking aside, I'm pretty sure a junkyahhhhd or EPay are you're only real viable options.

" Why does anyone get offended by what someone does to their own bike? I dont get it. "

You made me think about it after I cheered knowing someone else would like to know what these control freaks are up to.
Every time any owner strips whatever precious Honda part the horrified purists parts go up in value. That's not the part that bothers them.
What bothers them is they sat up late at night, their breast full of wonder and estrogen, unable to sleep, dreaming about their lovely darling and all her glory... and next thing you know someone else doesn't share their emotional deluge and their reaction is they must spread their mind museum as far as they possibly can, taking over as much of the real world as possible.

Honda has different part numbers for the tank badges. I have both a right and left NOS tank badge for a 76F. Doesn't matter how hard I stare at them I can't tell the difference. Hope that helps  ;) ;)

There are differences in colors, but they might all fit in the same holes.  I know my CB500 has some kind of blingy gold in the background which is kind of cool.  It wouldnt matter if you were going to paint them anyway.
