steering lock key
« on: July 07, 2011, 04:32:55 am »
Tried to do some searches and even ask David Silver Spares for help but no luck....

a friend who's restoring a really nice 500 to concurs condition would really like to have the key for the tiny steering lock under the fork triple clamp.

It's a Neiman lock with the code 19 stamped on it. Obviously someone who can cut a key according to the code would be best but if not, even the key blank could be useful. DSS doesn't stock keys or blanks nor the complete lock....

Anyone dealing with these anywhere?

Grazie

TG

Should be the same as the ignition key, unless the ignition switch has been replaced.

that's not an OEM lock so the key won't match the ignition or the seat.
This place advertises replacement keys.

Probably a better chance the ignition was replaced by after market but you can look at the seat lock number if the 500 has one and that should match if all are original. Once you get the T#### number you can go online and buy a Honda key to fit that number lock set.
